Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00p; occasional nights and/or weekends as needed 

The annual salary for this position is $56,000 - $60,000. 

Department Summary & Job Purpose:

The Summit Project is a multi-year initiative the Mount Holyoke College community developed to implement the student-centered vision for services and processes. The Summit Training Coordinator is a key project team member responsible for implementing the Workday Human Capital Management (HCM), Finance, Payroll, and Student systems at Mount Holyoke College. This role focuses on designing, developing, and delivering comprehensive end-user training programming to ensure employees' successful adoption and utilization of Workday across the College. In close partnership with the Summit Project Manager, Summit Change Management Lead, and Alchemy implementation partners, the Training Coordinator will collaborate with various stakeholders, including functional leads and subject matter experts, to identify training needs, adapt training materials, develop training materials, and deliver effective training sessions.

This position is eligible for a combination of remote work and on-site work. The remote work schedule will be defined between the successful candidate and the supervisor and is subject to approval and periodic review of alignment with the College’s Flexible and Adaptive work processes.  Evening and weekend work may, at times, be required.

 

Core Job Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Training Needs Assessment
    • Collaborate with the implementation partner consultants and project stakeholders to identify training requirements and target audiences.
    • Conduct training needs assessments to understand end-users ' skill levels and knowledge gaps.
    • Work with subject matter experts to analyze Workday business processes and system configurations to determine training scope and objectives.
  • Training Program Development
    • Design and develop end-user training materials, including user guides, job aids, and e-learning modules, based on the identified needs.
    • Create engaging and interactive training content that aligns with adult learning principles and best practices.
    • Develop training curricula and learning paths tailored to user roles and responsibilities.
    • Revise existing training materials and user guides as Mount Holyoke adopts and deploys new or existing Workday functionality.
  • Training Evaluation and Feedback
    • Maintain accurate records of training activities, attendance, and user progress.
    • Prepare training-related documentation, such as training schedules, communication materials, and user guides.
    • Collaborate with project team members to ensure consistent and timely communication of training updates and initiatives in alignment with project milestones.

Qualifications: 

  • A combination of education and experience that supports the requirements of the position.
  • 2-3 years prior experience in leading end-user training programs
  • Proficiency in developing training materials using various media, including written guides, e-learning modules, and presentations.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills with the ability to engage and motivate stakeholders at various levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated project management abilities, including managing multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies
  • Demonstrated commitment and ability to contribute to an inclusive working and learning environment in which diverse individuals can thrive
  • Enthusiastic service orientation with sensitivity to the needs of users at all skill levels

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Training and Development, Instructional Design, or a related field
  • 3-5 years experience in leading end-user training programs, preferably for Workday or other enterprise-wide software implementations
  • Familiarity with the Workday Platform and Student or similar ERP systems is highly desirable.
  • Relevant certifications in training and development (e.g., Certified Professional in Learning and Performance, Certified Professional in Training Management) are a plus.
  • Experience working in an academic setting

Physical Demands: Operates office equipment and computers to perform essential duties and responsibilities.
Sufficient clarity of speech required includes those which permit the employee to discern verbal instructions and communicate effectively in person and by telephone.
Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, moving from one work site to another.

Working Conditions:   The employee is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions (such as in typical office or administrative work).
