The Archives and Special Collections (ASC) at Mount Holyoke College collects, preserves, and makes accessible the official records of the College; papers of individuals associated with Mount Holyoke including alum, faculty, and staff; and records of student life. ASC’s Rare Book collection reflects the curriculum of Mount Holyoke over time. It spans the history of print culture as well as contemporary fine press and artists books. Reporting to the Head of Archives and Special Collections (ASC), this position offers the opportunity to join a department that is committed to developing user-centered and transformative approaches to archival work. As a member of the ASC department, this person will provide technical expertise to expand and care for the digital tools that enable students, faculty, staff, alums, and researchers to use our distinctive collections more widely. Our talented staff work in various crafts including, cleaning (night and day custodial, housekeeping), building trades (painting, carpentry, locksmith, electrical, HVAC, plumbing), as well as, on the grounds, and in the stockroom. Our office handles over 18,000 telephone calls per year and we respond to over 12,000 service requests. We are responsible for maintaining 300 acres and more than 2,000,000 square feet of property in 100+ buildings. Mount Holyoke College has several full-time positions. This position is typically scheduled to work 40 hours per week, Sunday, 6:00am-2:30pm and Monday-Thursday, 4:00pm-12:30am. Positions are fully benefited. Occasional off-hours, holiday, and overtime assignments will be required.
Instructional Technologist South Hadley, MA
Mount Holyoke College’s Library, Information, and Technology Services (LITS) Division empowers a diverse and inclusive learning community equipping every person to purposefully engage the world. We connect people with the information, expertise, spaces, and technologies that enhance their work and fuel scholarly endeavor. Mount Holyoke College is part of the Five Colleges, Inc. Consortium along with Amherst College, Hampshire College, Smith College, and the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. Research and Instructional Support (RIS) is a co-located group of librarians and instructional technologists within LITS. RIS provides research support, information literacy programming, language learning support, library collections, and instructional technology support which advance excellence in teaching and learning. Within RIS, the Educational Technology team facilitates the critical use of technologies in teaching and learning in a primarily residential setting. The team develops and supports a suite of foundational technology offerings, including the learning management system, videoconferencing, and content creation platforms, while also collaborating with faculty to introduce, foster, support and expand innovative uses of technologies in classrooms across campus. The team plays a key role in the campus’s Arts and Technology Initiative; works closely with the campus Makerspace community; is building capacity in data services for faculty and students; and partners with other LITS units on the effective deployment of technology in classrooms and labs. Reporting to the Manager of Educational Technology, the Instructional Technologist collaborates with Mount Holyoke faculty and students across the college at the intersection of teaching, learning, and technology. As a critical member of the Educational Technology team within Research and Instructional Support (RIS), this person partners with colleagues to manage the implementation of new and existing campus technologies, connects with and assists faculty and student users of these technology tools, and builds a pedagogical and technological repertoire that is tailored to the needs of the Mount Holyoke community. The Instructional Technologist also collaborates with colleagues across LITS, to ensure the integration and complementarity of support for LITS programs and services. The Instructional Technologist will be further tasked with providing advanced support for one or more of the College’s core technologies, including the learning management system (currently Moodle), content publishing platform (currently WordPress), video storage and delivery platform (currently Kaltura), and/or interactive content creation and authoring tools (currently H5P).
Sr Research Associate South Hadley, MA
Dr. Jane Couperus is looking to hire a Senior Research Associate in her Attention, Brain, and Behavior Lab (https://sites.hampshire.edu/jcouperus/) specifically to work on projects that are part of the PURSUE project (http://pursueerp.com). This is a one-year grant funded position that may be extended to a second year contingent on funding. Current research topics in the lab include neural representations of visual selective attention in adults and children as well as individual differences such as socioeconomic status and their impact on cognition. We use behavioral and brain imaging techniques (event related potentials) to answer a variety of research questions based in these topics. A primary focus of this position will be conducting research, analyzing, and curating EEG/ERP data for the PURSUE project. This is an ideal position for someone for someone who would like to obtain additional research experience in cognitive neuroscience or developmental cognitive neuroscience before applying to graduate school. The lab is committed to providing a rigorous, supportive, and inclusive training environment.

The digital specialist, alum communications at Mount Holyoke College is responsible for managing and implementing the digital component of an overall integrated strategy for alum communications and marketing. This role ensures the quality and consistency of broadcast email, social media, video and other electronic communications for the alum audience.
